Front wheel 3.5" with brake drum

These artillery style front wheels are correct for for 1955 Mk1 Bobtails with 8" drum brakes and the 1960 T52 formula juniors. They could be used as wide front wheels on a Cooper 500. These Magnesium wheels come with a integral 8" cast iron brake drum liner fitted and tapper roller wheel bearings to suit the Ford stub axles. Wheels are manufactured using period correct magnesium sand casting techniques, from our own patterns at the leading motorsport magnesium foundry and machined in house with the latest CNC lathes & mills. Safety beads are incorporated and machined to the industry ‘ETRTO’ standards, as is the rim diameter to ensure correct tyre fitment and sealing. These improvements over the original wheel permit the use of tubeless tyres. Once the machining processes have been completed all wheels are subject to full dimensional inspection on our high accuracy, computerised co-ordinate measuring equipment. Wheels are then finished in the original style black chromate which is a process that helps to arrest the natural deterioration of magnesium. All our magnesium wheels are then subjected to a process of double impregnation and final pressure test which ensures correct sealing and no air loss.
