Crankshaft - 8 weight small nose #

This crankshaft is specific to the dry sump D-Type engine and wet sump lightweight E-Type alloy engine and features a narrower rear main journal compared with the standard OE crankshaft. This was a feature of the original Jaguar racing crankshafts and was developed by the Jaguar competition department to give greater strength to the rear main journal. When fitting this crankshaft to an original Jaguar cast iron block the rear main journal and cap will need machining to 38.10mm wide. We offer modified main bearing sets with one pair of narrowed shells to suit. See part # JAG216R. The nose diameter is 1.5” and 4.25” long. For the E-Type dry sump crankshaft see part # JAG295L Our wet and dry sump specification crankshafts are both designed to be used with a lip type rear main oil seal rather than the original, less reliable, rope seal. We manufacture a range of oil seal housings to fit most Jaguar applications. Manufactured by the UK’s leading crank manufacturer. Crosthwaite & Gardiner crankshafts are some of the finest around. Designed in house by C&G, all our cranks are manufactured exclusively for us to the highest possible quality standards. Starting life as a solid steel billet, they are then hewn into the finished article through a multi-stage machining, nitriding and grinding process. All our designs have been well proven over the years and can be attested to many a race victory, with different variations of crank also available to suit the particular engine build. We refuse to be left behind, which is why modern motorsport techniques such as gun drilling, use of heavy metal inserts and super finishing can be found incorporated into our crank designs.
